Junior leadership students at Summerland Secondary School will hold a father-son event to make birdhouses later this month.
The event will be held at the high school on Sunday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Joe Stead, one of the event organizers, said they will make slot box birdhouses for bluebirds.
“Their habitat has been destroyed over the years,” he said. “We’re trying to get them back again.”
The event, for parents with young children, will raise money for Kiva.com, an organization which gives micro-loans to people in developing countries.
