Students cut hair for hospital

Alexa Brickenden and Madison Wilms, both Grade 10 students at Summerland Secondary, are going to be taking part in Shave for the Brave, a BC Children’s Hospital Fundraiser.

Shave for the Brave was organized to raise awareness and support to those who have been affected by cancer and will take place on May 26 at Gyro Park in Penticton.

The girls want to help the cause and raise some money along with shaving off their hair.  Their goal is to raise $1,000 and would encourage the community to support them by pledging them. They have already raised around $600.

If you wish to help out those battling with cancer and pledge Madison and Alexa, please drop your donation off at the Summerland Secondary School’s main office before May 25. Or, if you wish to donate online, go to www.baldingfordollars.com where Alexa and Madi have a page.

All the money goes to families who have kids battling cancer and will help them get what they need.
