Parade entries noted

A number of top entries in the Summerland Action Festival parade wererecognized for excellence.

The parade was held in the downtown area on Saturday morning.

The best in parade went to the City of Kelowna’s entry, with the Garnett Valley Gang/Kettle Valley Railway float as the runner-up.

The best float in the parade was the Fall Fair’s entry.

Mac’s Convenience Store had the best commercial entry.

The Mutt Strut was the best pet or animal entry. The best marching unit was Summerland School of Dance and the best equestrian unit was the Summerland Rodeo Group.

Summerland Museum’s entry was named the best community service entry,while the Summerland Seniors’ Village had the best senior unit.

Summerland Pipes and Drums and the Okanagan Caledonia Band were tied forthe best band entry in the parade.
