It’s a pity that Movember, a movement committed to men’s health, wasn’t launched in Canada until 2007. These gentlemen certainly would have been poster boys for the foundation. The year was 1956 and Summerland’s Golden Jubilee celebration included a beard growing contest, resulting in a town full of facial hair. The gent in the centre with the mutton chops and moustache is Jack Goodland, the local barber, but we’re not sure who the other fellows are.
