Film club shows Moore documentary

The Summerland Film Club Presents: Capitalism: A Love Story by Michael Moore at the Summerland Yacht Club on Monday, March 14 at 7 p.m.  Big Screen projection in Blue Ray.

Tribute concert

Forever Young: A Neil Young Tribute will be held this Saturday, March 12 at 8 p.m. at Centre Stage Theatre.

Dinner theatre

Uncle Phil’s Diner – an evening of Food and Fun from the Fabulous 50s featuring the rock and roll music of The Desotos at Summerland Baptist Church (bottom floor) on March 10, 11, 12 and 13 with the dinner and theatre production beginning at 6 p.m. 

Tickets are available at Summerland Baptist Church and The Sweet Tooth.  Take a trip back to the 50s for an evening of food, music, and fun.  Put on your poodle skirts and leather jackets and come ready to enjoy some classic diner food and an evening of entertainment unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

The Okanagan Regional Library will be celebrating its 75 anniversary on Saturday, March 19 and 

The Friends of the Summerland Library invite you to Authors in the Afternoon for a writing workshop, activities, new books and authors visits. It’s a word party.

The Summerland Branch at 9525 Wharton Street will be hosting:

o Young Writers workshop (Grades 3 to 5) from 1 to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Friends of the Summerland Library Society.

o Spot the Reader photo archives contest — take a guess to win a prize.

o Authors in the Afternoon with  Don Gayton and Rie Charles from 1 to 3 p.m. Come meet your local authors.

o Join us for refreshments at 3 p.m.
Pick up your 75 Years of Favourites booklists and watch the ORL’s commemorative video.

The next show, Light Touches in Black and White, at the Summerland Art Gallery opens Thursday, March 17 and features photography by Rick Gray.
