Team Gartrell Grinders, Alexis Gartrell, Pat Gartrell, Megan Gartrell, Linnaea McDermid, Linda Kirbyson took part in the second annual Giant’s Head Grind on Saturday, dressed in Superhero capes.
The logo on each cape included the letters C.W. for Christopher Walker and the number 31, which was his goalie number as a hockey player.
The race is held in memory of Walker who died of colon cancer in 2013.
The Gartrell team motto was “Anyone that is fighting cancer is a hero in our eyes and not every hero wears a cape.”
