Candidates prepare for Summerland pageant

Eight contestants will participate in the Blossom Pageant.

Sacha Perry-Fagant

Miss Action Fest

My name is Sacha Perry-Fagant. I am a Grade 11 student and proud to be this year’s Miss Action Fest.

I love to act and sing and I spend most of my time at rehearsals for the play Summerland Secondary School puts on every year.

When I can, I like to volunteer to fundraise for Me to We. I also find science very interesting and, once I’ve graduated, I plan to go to university to major in this subject.

I’m looking forward to participating in the Blossom Pageant because there are many things that I’m going to learn from it.

I am very grateful to be living in a town that offers such wonderful opportunities such as this pageant.

After high school I’d love to attend Kwantlan Polytechnic University to obtain my bachelor of design, fashion and technology and pursue a career in the textile industry.

I look forward to representing the Kiwanis Club of Summerland in this year’s Miss Summerland Blossom Pageant and I appreciate all their support.

Michaella Haidenger

Miss Rotary

Hello, my name is Michaella Haidenger, I am glad to be this year’s Miss Rotary.

For the past two years I have participated in the high school plays and before that I participated in many different sports.

However, this year I have put those aside to take part in the Blossom Pageant as well as many other new commitments.

I am currently enrolled in Summerland Secondary as a French immersion student in Grade 11. My favorite subjects are biology, physics and English. I hope to go on to university to earn my masters in biology.

My family moved to Summerland when I was very little and I have been in this breathtaking town ever since.

I am the youngest in both of my two families and I hope to do them, as well as the members of the Rotary Club, proud this year as I take part in this incredible experience.

Adrianna McMillen

Miss SIS Exteriors

My name is Adrianna McMillen and I am a Grade 11 student at Summerland Secondary School.

My hobbies include soccer and dancing. I love to read and I am a strong supporter in the Me to We club at SSS.

Following graduation I would like to attend a post secondary institution and hopefully pursue a career in marine biology. I pride myself in having a positive attitude in everything I do and I hope to carry this forward into the Blossom Pageant Experience.

I am very honoured to be the first Miss SIS Exteriors and I hope to do them proud.

Alexa Brickenden

Miss Skating Club

Hi, my name is Alexa Brickenden and I am Miss Summerland Skating Club.

I have been skating with the club for 12 years now, so it is quite special for me to be representing them.

I am also a volunteer coach for the skating club’s Canskate program.

Besides figure skating, I love to play volleyball, softball and do track and field. I am excited for the coming year and what adventures the Blossom Pageant will bring.

Susan Watkins

Miss Zias

My name is Susan Watkins, I am a Grade 11 student at Summerland Secondary School. I am interested in music and the arts, and I spend a lot of my spare time reading and writing.

I am an active leadership student interested in making a change. I’ve played rep soccer for six years, and I absolutely love it. I’m very excited to be taking part in the Summerland Blossom Pageant this year.

Thank you so much to Zia’s Restaurant for sponsoring me and giving me this opportunity.
