Flight Sergeant Simon Bambey of the 902 Summerland Air Cadet Squadron has received scholarship for further flight training.

He was recently selected as a recipient of a 2010 Air Force Association of Canada Pilot Training Achievement Award of $300 for further flying training.

“A great number of people and organizations are involved in supporting the Air Cadet program,” said Grant Fabes, National President of The Air Cadet League of Canada. “The award you are receiving, for instance, has come from someone who has seen and experienced the benefits of Air Cadet training.  I know that you will continue to use the skills you have learned through your involvement with the Movement for the remainder of your life.”

Bambey has been a member of the 902 Summerland Air Cadet squadron since November 2007.

He is an enthusiastic and highly dedicated cadet who successfully completed a six-week Glider Pilot Scholarship course last summer.

Bambey has also completed a Computerized Aircraft Simulation Centre program.  He serves as a cadet instructor for 902 Squadron’s flight simulator program on Wednesday evenings at the Harold Simpson Memorial Youth Centre in Summerland.
