The Summerland Merchants Association have arranged for artists to be painting and displaying art on the patio of the Vanilla Pod on Saturdays.

Featured this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., are Pat Tompson and Barbara Etter, members of the Summerland Art Club.

Examining films

Documentary Filmmaker Pepita Ferrari is the Shatford Centre’s artist in residence and returns for a second year with a repeat performance of her popular insightful and inspiring look at documentary films.

There are a series of workshops beginning this week and continuing into August.  For more information contact the Shatford Centre, 760 Main St., Penticton or call 250-770-7668.

Live music

The 2011 Kelowna Jazz and Blues Festival is this Saturday, July 23 in City Park.  Local Summerland jazz musician Larry Crawford and Pyramid perform at 1 p.m.

Don’t forget to drop by the Summerland Arts Centre and make your bid for one of the incredible street banners gracing Summerland streets.

Word artists of all kinds will have their chance to see their writing published in the Summerland Review in the first annual Creative Writing Contest. The contest has fiction and poetry categories for adults and youth.  See Summerland Review for details.
