The Summerland Community Arts Council’s big fundraising event is tomorrow night, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
This is an evening of desserts, special coffees and wine and entertainment by the guitar duo Almost a Few.
The Potters’ Guild is donating beautiful mugs for each guest to take home.
Tickets are limited and are available at the Art Gallery and the Sweet Tooth.
Support the arts in Summerland and enjoy a great night out.
Opera
This Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. at the PenMar Theatre is the Next Live in HD opera from the New York Metropolitan.
At the gallery
C’est la Vie is the current show in the Summerland Art Gallery that brings together 22 local artists who use a range of media including oil, pastel, clay, photography, mixed media, acrylic and pencil.
The artists are Linda Baker, Karan Bowyer, Enid Chin, Bruce Crawford, Ralph Critchlow, Norma Elliott, Mikaela Etter, Wendy Ferlin, Susie Gay, Bev Gneo, Irene Gray, Jeremy Hiebert, Michael Hermesh, Shannon Leardo, Ingrid Mann-Willis, Dale Matthews, Marcia Stacy, Ron Stacy, Barb Tucker, Josy Von Krosigk and Ingrid Winkler.
Winter hours at the gallery are Tuesday to Friday 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Youth symphony
The Youth Symphony of the Okangan presents Showcase Concert 2011 on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. at Penticton Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle, 945 Main St., Penticton.
Tickets are available at Penticton Academy of Music office in Leir House, 220 Manor Park Ave. or at the door on the day of the concert.
The program will include Fall Fair by Ridout, Piano Concerto in E minor by Chopin, Violin Concerto by I Raminsh, l’Arlesienne Suite by Bizet, selections by Candesca vocal ensemble including Nella Fantasia from the movie The Mission, and four original short compositions by YSO students.
