Museum tours

The Summerland Museum is offering historic guided tours throughout the area. The Fur Brigade Tour marks the 200th anniversary of the fur traders using the Brigade Trail. Tour dates are Aug. 7 and Aug. 20 and will include discussions of First Nations history, the use of Garnett Lake as one of the important encampment sites and the establishment of Priest, the first non-native settlement in British Columbia that wasn’t fortified.

There is a Prairie Valley tour that uses the Trans Canada Trail being held Aug. 21.

This tour describes Summerland’s unique geology, First Nations history and the numerous famous people who owned land in Prairie Valley.

There is a limit of 15 people per tour.   All tours start at 9am to avoid the heat of summer days.
