It’s an ode to youth, life, and love and it’s coming to Penticton’s Tempest Theatre next week.
Local theatre lovers will have five opportunities to watch I and You, a production by award-winning playwright Lauren Gunderson.
Opening Wednesday, Oct. 5, the theatre welcomes Vancouver-based actors Kaitlyn Bernard and Andy Kalirai for five nights of heart-filled, youth-inspired performances.
“The second I finished reading I and You by the splendid playwright Lauren Gunderson, I knew it should show on Tempest’s stage,” said Kate Twa, the theatre’s artistic director. “It is a contemporary and eloquent blending of the sweet awkwardness of youth with bigger themes of living and dying.”
The play stars Bernard, who is best known for being featured in the Netflix original film, 1922, and Amazon comedy series The Lake.
The latest production to grace the Penticton stage is suitable for anyone who is a teenager — or once was, representatives from the theatre said.
I and You runs from Oct. 5 to 9, with each of the shows starting at 7 p.m.
