Expect the unexpected later this week when improvisational theatre comes to Penticton.

In partnership with the Peach Gravy Theatre Co-operative, Tempest Theatre is hosting two nights of audience-inspired performances on July 22 and 23.

The event, officially called “At The Table,” will feature longtime Peach Gravy leads Cain Critchlow, Isaac Gilbert and Sean Wood.

“Stories from the audiences’ experiences and imaginations will fuel the improvisers to create a play on the spot,” event organizers said.

The shows will each start at 7:30 p.m., with the doors set to open at 7 p.m. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the downstairs lounge, where refreshments from Cannery Brewing, Slackwater Brewing, Mayhem Winery and others will be available.

Tickets for the theatre’s show — located on 125 Eckhardt Avenue — are listed for $20. Discounts are available for groups of six and the venue’s Patreon members.

“Stories can bubble to the surface, secrets can be revealed, memories are relived,” organizers added.
