After a difficult two years, the HaHaHa Kidzfest is set to kick off its inaugural year in June.
The three-day arts and culture children’s festival runs from June 9 to 11 with performances and activities in Penticton’s Gyro Park.
This will be the first year that the festival will be able to run as it was originally planned, after an adapted version in 2021 distributed the activities to classrooms, family homes and brought the performances into schools.
Four performers are set to headline the main stage and provide workshops each day of the festival.
Circus West is a one-stop hub for circus arts.
Ginalina is a three-time Juno nominated singer who creates a world of indie folk music.
Ache Brasil fuses music, dance and the acrobatic art of Capoeira into a dynamic, colourful, high-energy performance.
Krystal Kiran is a multifaceted performer, artist, choreographer, and arts educator who has built a body of work that explores her cultural intersectionality as a South Asian-Punjabi-Canadian.

In addition to the main performances and the workshop tent, there will be other activity tents set up around Gyro Park, a Nylon Zoo where kids can parade in costume and immerse in storytelling and the Tiny Town area for kids aged five and below.
The Indigenous Village will also be a highlight as children will be able to experience and appreciate specific activities brought in partnership with members of Penticton Indian Band.
School tickets have been on sale since March 1 and are selling quickly. Students who attend the festival with their class on Thursday or Friday are encouraged to reuse their entry wristband for free entry on Saturday.
Public Tickets go on sale on April 1 and can be purchased at www.hahahahkidzfest.com or in person, using cash only, at the Penticton and District Community Arts Council. The early bird ticket price of $7 applies to both adults and children, with children under three free. As of May 1, ticket prices increase to $8 per person.
Additional tickets will be available at the gate throughout the festival weekend. Each ticket gives full access to the entire festival site including all main stage performances.
