A celebration of love and laughter is coming to Summerland this February in the form of live stand-up comedy.
Vancouver-based comedian Ed Hill will perform at the Summerland Arena Banquet Room on Feb. 13 as a follow-up to his critically acclaimed Amazon Prime special, Candy & Smiley.
Hill’s special, which can also be seen on Apple TV, is currently streaming worldwide.
And when the comedian arrives in Summerland for Valentine’s Day weekend, he’ll want to connect with the South Okanagan audience right away.
“This is a show that is an honest observation on what connects all of us: Love,” Hill said.
The comedian told the Western News in December that he isn’t a political comic or an observation one, but instead, someone who talks about his own personal experiences.
“Everything you hear from me is going to be something that’s personally involved,” he said before Christmas.
With the release of Candy & Smiley in March of 2021, Hill became the first comedian of Taiwanese-Canadian descent to release a full one-hour special.
The Vancouver-based comedian will be joined in Summerland on Feb. 13 by David Kopp, a fixture in the Okanagan and the founder of the Kelowna Comedy club.
“It is an honour to be able to perform in front of people that made me who I am today,” Kopp said when asked about performing with Hill in the Okanagan. “We hope to bring an evening of levity in such a difficult time for everyone.”
Tickets for the show are available at eventbrite.com for $20.
Along with his Summerland show in mid-February, Hill will be at Dakotas Pub in Kelowna on Feb. 12.
