What better way to start the Canada Day long weekend than with a live, Loud and Proud performance from one of the country’s venerable rock bands?

Prism – featuring legendary founding member Al Harlow – takes the stage at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Friday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m.

“The guys will be doing a meet-and-greet so if you want to bring an empty Prism album cover for them to sign, do so,” said promoter Norm Richards. “They’ll also have merchandise to sell.”

Staples of Canadian classic rock, Prism is known for their huge hits from the 1970s and 1980s, including Spaceship Superstar, Virginia, See Forever Eyes, Take Me To The Kaptin, Night To Remember, and Armageddon.

“Come sing along to all of their great hits,” said Richards. “They are great Canadian gold hit-makers.”

Tickets for the show are available by calling 250-549-7469 or through ticketseller.ca.

Bringing Canadian classic bands to towns like Vernon is a labour of love for a veteran promoter like Richards.

“Guys, the concert will make a great date night,” he said.

Prism will play two, 45-minute sets in Vernon.
