U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders spotted in Penticton

Sanders seems to have developed a taste for local craft beer

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has been spotted enjoying some of the finer things in Penticton.

Sanders has been everywhere lately, after he was photographed at Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C on Wednesday wearing oversized hand-knit mittens, a casual winter coat, and a baby-blue medical mask.

The photo of the American politician with his arms crossed and his eyes half-closed has since gone viral and been Photoshopped into various scenes and settings across North America — including Penticton.

And, somewhat unsurprisingly, it seems Sanders has developed a taste for local craft beer.

The Democrat Senator of Vermont also stopped by Penticton’s iconic Peach, certainly dressed for today’s sub-zero weather.

Penticton wasn’t Sanders’ first stop in B.C., however. He was also spotted dropping in on a Vancouver Island municipal staff meeting earlier today.
