Residents of the Summerland neighbourhood of Trout Creek are getting ready to bring some light to the festive season.

The third annual Christmas Light Up Contest will take place from Tuesday, Dec. 11 until Sunday, Dec. 16 at 9 p.m.

Residents are urged to enter their home, or that of a friend or neighbour in one of four categories.

Best Classical Design — Traditional decorations from holidays past

The Clark Griswold — You light up the whole neighbourhood

Best Theme — You have a running theme happening in your light display

Most Favourite — The display you love, but doesn’t fit into the other categories

Any home in Trout Creek is eligible. House numbers should be visible so people know which house to vote for.

Prizes are donated by DeLong Studio, Rustic and Refined, 8th Generation, Pharmasave, Summerland IGA and Pescada Hair Studio.

To vote, a ballot box is available at the Trout Creek community sign at the corner of Nixon and May. Votes may also be sent by email to troutcreekvotes@gmail.com.

Winners will be announced on the Trout Creek Community board and on the Trout Creek Community Facebook page.
