Historically, there have been three separate attempted routes to Peachland.

The Brigade Trail route was the first attempt, but it was too steep. The second attempt was the Lakeshore Highway, completed in 1915. It was subject to numerous landslides.

With the recent closures of Highway 97, travelling to Peachland continues to be a challenge.
