The 100 Men Who Care group raised money to support three charities in the South Okanagan Similkameen.

The three charities chosen to present to the group were the Summerland Montessori School, the Ooknakane Friendship Centre in Penticton, and the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.

The group raised $4,300 and, after hearing from the three charities, donated $2,580 to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club. The other two charities also received $860 each.

The Okanagan Boys and Girls Club will use the funds to enhance their programming to meet the needs of the club members. This has been a difficult time for them, as their fundraising campaigns have been hampered by COVID-19 restrictions.

The Summerland Montessori School plans to use their funds to upgrade and expand their computer lab to meet the demands and needs of updated technology and increased attendance at the school.

The Ooknakane Friendship Centre’s award will help one of their most vulnerable clients access significant dental care that will reduce suffering, improve quality of life, and allow them to enjoy more food choices and better nutrition.

This is a challenging time for all charities who apply for funding from 100 Men Who Care. The organization urges all members to stay active, engaged and committed to help those in need in our area and to encourage their colleagues and friends to join the group. All of the money raised at each 100 Men Who Care event goes directly to the three charities.

To date, 57 charities in the South Okanagan Similkameen region have received $123,400 from the 100 Men Who Care group. New members are always welcome and can register at www.100menpenticton.com.
