What better way to beat this extreme heat than an old fashioned water fight.

Penticton firefighters are challenging all kids and parents to a water fight tonight (June 28) and June 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) parking lot.

“Come prepared - we are!” the Penticton Professional Firefighters posted to their Facebook page.

The SOEC is also now home to Penticton’s cooling centre.

The cooling centre is open to provide a safe place for residents and visitors to get relief from the extreme heat.

The cooling centre at the SOEC is open between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., starting today through Friday, July 2.
