Summerland student receives award for academic excellence

Nina Tolnai had the highest marks of any 2020 graduate in the Okanagan Skaha School District

A Summerland Secondary School graduate has received an award for academic excellence.

Nina Tolnai was presented with the Governor General’s Academic Medal, 2019 to 2020. The bronze medal is awarded for academic excellence to the student who achieves the highest average upon graduating from a secondary school.

Tolnai had an average of 98.3 per cent.

Her academic average was the highest in the entire Okanagan Skaha School District, a district with more than 500 graduating students in 2020, said Alan Stel, principal of Summerland Secondary School.
