In addition, the Kiwanis Club donated $500 to the Variety Club. The money given to the Variety Club will be matched, providing a total of $1,000 for that organization.

Diane Pearson, treasurer of the Kiwanis Club, said in the past, the club held garage sales as fundraisers. Now, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the sales are held online instead. She said additional donations of items will help the club to continue with its sales.

In addition, the service club is looking for additional members. There are at present 11 members of the Summerland Kiwanis Club.
