Summerland arts sale begins Nov. 24

Artists and artisans in Summerland will soon have their works available during Light Up the Arts.

The sale, organized by the Summerland Community Arts Council, will be at the George Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre, 9525 Wharton St. It begins on the evening of Nov. 24, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Handcrafted items include candles, pottery, knit and crochet items, paintings, jewelry, books, leather bags, belts and more.

During the evening, Chef Andy and Loraine will be at the event with meat pies and other food items. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be available.

Thornhaven Estate Wines will be present from 5 to 8:30 p.m. with Danny Evanishen as sommelier.

The Summerland Singers and Players will host a singalong outside in the greenspace at the arts centre, and the public is encouraged to join in.

Light Up the Arts continues at the centre until Dec. 23. The facility will be open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will also have a daily draw for a handmade holiday ornament as well as daily draws for raffle prizes.
