The Oliver Fire Department is celebrating a historic birthday in 2022 and now is the time for community members to grab their tickets for the party.

Hours before the stage is set for a special performance from Tanner Olsen Band, the department is hosting a day full of family fun on July 9, at its fire hall on 369 Similkameen Avenue.

The free open-house event will feature hall tours and live fire demos. At night, though, the department is promising a birthday celebration to remember when local wine, beer, ciders and hamburgers will be available during the live music for a licensed and ticketed event.

After the daytime open house at the fire hall, it’s time to “strap on your dancing shoes,” according to the department, who says the evening event will only be open to those who are of legal drinking age.

Tickets to see the Tanner Olsen Band at the department’s 100th anniversary are listed for $10 per person. Community members can purchase their tickets by sending money to Etransfer@ovfrsociety.com.
