The lineup for who is making soup for the Penticton Art Gallery’s Soup Bowls fundraiser is a who’s who of Penticton’s best chefs. The likes of Honey Toast, Brodo, Pasta Factory, Angry Vegan to the SOS Cafe and Barley Mill will be showing off their culinary skills. How about The Dream Cafe? Yes, them too! Plus the gallery’s own board member Ann Doyon, and so many others.

There is so much soup, chili and stews to be had, the fundraiser is being held on two separate days, Nov. 10 and 13. Tickets are selling fast. Nov. 10th has only a handful of tickets left, and Nov. 13 is two-thirds sold out.

The 26th annual Soup Bowls fundraiser will be held at the Penticton Art Gallery, with doors opening and 6:30 p.m. to give attendees a chance to pick out their favourite hand-crafted bowl before the soups get served up at 7.

The Soup Bowls is one of the most popular fundraisers the gallery runs, with hundreds of unique bowls made by local artists.

Many of the bowls are crafted by members of both the Penticton and Summerland potters’ guilds.

Once patrons have their bowls, the tasty part of the evening begins, with over a dozen different soups, stews or chili-styled recipes served up by local Penticton restaurants and businesses all vying to be the tastiest of the night.

Some other soup makers on the list are Bench Market, Sociale, Slackwater and Cannery, The Nest, The Cellar, Copper Mug and Time Winery.

Not only will guests get to taste all of the soups, but they also get to vote for their favourite.

Curator Paul Crawford will announce the people’s choice winners at the evening event. Custom trophies are then given out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Tickets are $40 for gallery members and $45 for non-members. Available at the gallery at 199 Marina Way, or online at pentictonartgallery.com.
