Summerland’s Recreation Department will offer new programs for children and adults this spring, along with perennial favourites.

Summerland’s Recreation Department will offer new programs for children and adults this spring, along with perennial favourites.

Joanne Malar of the recreation department said the Refit program, which combines cardio, dance and fitness, is new for this year.

Another program is Laughter Yoga. Malar said laughter is an important part of emotional wellness.

Some of the long-time favourites include yoga, pilates, fitness camps and boot camps and the Puddle Jumpers program for children between the ages of three and five.

The spring recreation guide will be delivered on March 7.

This year, for the first time, online registration will be available.

Malar urges people not to wait too long before registering, as some of the programs tend to fill up quickly.

Most of the spring programs will begin in April.
