Hikers and cyclists will gather for a presentation at the Fur Brigade Lookout later this month as the Trail of the Okanagans holds Tea at the Top of the Fur Brigade Trail.
The event will be held Sunday, May 28 at the lookout between Summerland and Peachland.
The site, along the historic trail, is 400 metres above Okanagan Lake.
Henry Sielmann, chair of the Trail of the Okanagans, said the event, in its second year, is intended to make people aware of a beautiful area.
From Summerland, cyclists will travel from the Priest Camp at Garnett Lake. This is a four-kilometre ride on a rough surface with 80 metres of elevation gain.
Cyclists should arrive by 11:30 a.m.
Sielmann said cyclists need mountain bikes with good tires as there are steep and rough sections along the way.
From Peachland, hikers will take an interpretive hike from Hardy Falls. Hikers should arrive by 10:30 a.m.
The 3.5-kilometre hike has an elevation gain of 300 metres on a rough trail.
Sielmann said the trail from Hardy Falls is not suitable for cycling.
A ceremony will be held at the lookout at 1 p.m., with tea and goodies following.
