With the contest opened up beyond Penticton, officials with the South Okanagan Events Centre say this year’s Key 2 the SOEC campaign is seeing far more engagement than last year.

About 5,500 have entered the contest this year, with just under a week left for entrants, according to SOEC marketing co-ordinator Kevan Scott.

That’s about the same as last year’s total entries, which was open to the whole Valley, though organizers focused their campaign on Penticton.

“It’s super popular; we have a lot of promotions or campaigns going over Facebook right now, and that’s doing very well,” Scott said. “It’s getting lots of interest from all over the Okanagan Valley.”

There’s still a week to enter into the contest, which is done through the SOEC Facebook page and website, and grants the winner two tickets to every ticketed event at the SOEC for a full year.

“There’s no purchase necessary, and we’re not really asking much; just that you enter over Facebook and online,” Scott said. “You have an option of entering our cyber club while you enter. You don’t have to, but you have the option to.”

With just under a week left in the campaign, organizers are pumping up the advertising on social media, which they say is getting some traction.

“We’re hoping to see a lot more come in this last week,” Scott said. “If you just go to our Facebook page and take a look at the comments, people are ecstatic about the prize.

“It kind of seems a little bit too good to be true, but the thing is it is true.”
