Place mats given to Summerland care facility

Hand-quilted mats made by Summerland Material Girls given to Dr. Andrew Pavillion in Summerland

Members of the Summerland Material Girls donated hand-quilted place mats to the Dr. Andrew Pavillion in Summerland.

A total of 12 quilt guild members spend two and a half days making the mats.

From left are Kym Baresinkoff, assistant manager, residential services with the Interior Health Authority, along with quilt guild members Cathie McWatters, Barbara Gillespie of Cherry Tree Quilts, Wanda Rogers, Cathy Paterson and Lois Hunt. Missing from the picture are Heather Cottrell and Jacqueline Sykes.

In addition, Gillespie’s husband Sam Gillespie also helped with the quilting work.
