It was a celebration of agriculture as the Summerland Fall Fair returned to the community on Sept. 10.

The event had been cancelled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and was held in a scaled-down format for 2021.

For this year, the venue and the structure of the event were changed. (See story on page 5)

The fair was held in the green space in front of the Summerland Museum and the George Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre on Wharton Street.

Throughout the day there were musical performances, speeches, games and the zucchini races, as well as food trucks and booths from agricultural produces.

In addition, a mini-exhibition featuring artwork, flowers, fruits and vegetables, bread, eggs and preserves was on display in the arts and cultural centre.

This year marked 108 years for the longstanding agricultural event.
