PHOTOS: Pentictonites have some fun in the snow

About 5 to 10 centimetres of snow fell Monday morning and some locals made the most of it

Penticton received its first snow of the winter this morning (Monday, Dec. 21). And while it looks like the snow might not stick around for long in the city, some locals headed out to make the most of it while it lasts.

About 15 kids and their parents hit the hill at Columbia Elementary School in Penticton. It wasn’t just kids having fun though, a group of snowskaters also headed to the school to hike a jump and practice their tricks.

Although the city received a rare heavy snowfall in October, today’s snowfall marks Penticton’s first of the winter season as Dec. 21 also marked the first official day of winter.
