If you thought the Penticton Art Gallery’s 44th annual auction was all wrapped up, think again.

The gallery made an announcement on Friday morning to remind people that there are still three more opportunities to take in all of the festivities over the weekend.

Before the auction’s lights turn off for 2021 on Sunday, the gallery is hosting a three-day weekend event that kicks off on Friday night at 5 p.m.

The director of the Penticton Art Gallery, Paul Crawford, is inviting people for live music, fine wine and light refreshments to start the weekend while a number of the pieces go on display.

Crawford said that all the works are available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, with online bidding continuing until 9 p.m.

As the festivities come to a close on Sunday, people will have the opportunity to attend a live auction in the main gallery area starting at 1 p.m.

All successful bidders will be contacted within 48 hours of the auction ending, according to Crawford.

This year’s auction has no shortage of works that the gallery describes as “priceless.”

Among the items include Andy Warhol’s “Marilyn” series in 1967 and James Irwin’s NASA flight suit.

To register for either Friday’s in-person gathering or Sunday’s live auction, the gallery asks that you call 250-493-2928 or email reception@pentictonartgallery.com.

In addition to the in-person festivities, virtual bidding options are also available. The gallery is directing people who would like to place online bids to 32auctions.com/PAG2021.
