The Town of Osoyoos is supporting several local festivals with $46,133 in funding in 2022.

The funding comes through the province’s Resort Municipality Initiative, which goes toward non-profit groups chosen by town council that plan to host events that help improve local and visitors’ experiences by increasing visitation, investment and employment in the community.

This year, the recipients include Osoyoos Music in the Park, which received $26,133; the Osoyoos Lake Paddling Club, which received $5,000 for the Osoyoos Dragon Boat Festival; the Osoyoos & District Arts Council which received $10,000 for the Small Halls Arts Festival; and $5,000 for the South Okanagan Similkameen Pride Society’s Pride Parade and Festival.

With the ongoing pandemic and changing restrictions, if an event is cancelled or postponed, Osoyoos has advised the non-profits that the funds should be returned.
