For the fifth consecutive year, NeighbourLink is coordinating its annual Christmas dinner matchup.
The initiative pairs those who are alone for Christmas with families interested in hosting guests for their christmas Day dinner.
Mrijana Komljenovic of NeighbourLink said the event started when NeighbourLink members wanted to organize a Christmas Day banquet in the community. However, the logistics of hosting a community dinner were unworkable.
Instead, the members of the volunteer organizer decided to ask families if they would be willing to host a guest for their Christmas Day dinners.
“It’s the best program a community could have,” Komljenovic said. “It brings heart to the community at Christmas time.”
Those who are interested in participating in the Christmas dinner matchup as hosts or guests are asked to call 250-404-4673 to be matched.
The registration deadline is Dec. 20.
