Okanoggin Barbers and other local businesses have set up a fundraiser to support Wills Hodgkinson who is battling cancer.

The 10-year-old Penticton boy continues to fight his third round of cancer at B.C. Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Wills was diagnosed with a Wilms’ tumour in 2018, a rare kidney cancer that primarily affects children. After the tumour and his left kidney were removed, and undergoing chemotherapy, Wills was declared cancer-free in 2018 before relapsing a year later.

Okanoggin Barbers and other local businesses will be holding a raffle fundraiser, and at the end of the draw on Feb. 27 the barbershop staff will donate their day’s pay.

“We decided to do this because we believe we have an avenue and relationship with our community to bring people together to help someone who so deserves it,” says Peter Beauchamp, owner of Okanoggin Barbers.
