Agur Lake Camp’s Charity Golf Day united the community to support B.C.’s only barrier-free wilderness campground.

Sponsors, volunteers and golfers raised $7,500 in this fundraiser. Then the winner of the $10,000 hole-in-one that day, Len Filek, matched that amount bringing the total raised to $15,000.

There are 1,700 campgrounds for families to choose from when planning a camping getaway in British Columbia. But, for families accommodating a diverse ability, there is only one, Agur Lake Camp west of Summerland.

Presenting sponsor Brutus Truck Bodies, and sponsors: Summerland Credit Union, Shaughnessy’s Cove Restaurant, Peters Bros. Construction, Giants Head Brewing and Duffers Den Restaurant, helped make the Charity Golf Day a success.

The money raised will go to operating costs for Agur Lake Camp.
