The City of Penticton has released the seven finalists for residents to choose from for what will become the name of the city’s room in the new David E. Kampe Tower at the Penticton Regional Hospital.

After receiving 90 submissions, residents can now vote at shapeyourcitypenticton.ca for their favourite. The name to receive the most votes will be provided to Interior Health and the province for final approval.

The top seven names are Meadowlark Room, Ogopogo Room, Orchard Room, Peach Blossom Room, Quail Quay, Skaha Room and Sun-Oka Serenity.

“One thing that came through in all of the submissions was a strong sense of identity and pride in the community,” said JoAnne Kleb, engagement strategist with the City of Penticton in a news release. “We are looking forward to seeing which one of the finalists resonates the most with residents.”

Voting is open until April 13 either online at shapeyourcitypenticton.ca or by calling 250-490-2400. The winner will be announced at the city council meeting on April 17.
