Rev. Andrew Graham Campbell came from hardy pioneering stock.
Driven out of the highlands of Scotland, his forbears had migrated briefly to Ireland — after which a boatload of them docked at Quebec City in the early 1830s (where Campbell was born in 1876).
Rev. Campbell was vice-principal of Summerland’s Baptist junior college (Okanagan College) until 1913 when he married the music department teacher Eunice Haines.
In a 1907 letter written to his sister, Campbell notes that “[i]t is a bit strange to be called Professor (as [the students] are beginning to do), I suppose I shall get used to it some time, I am quite rugged again.”
