A fundraising event at a Summerland cafe has raised more than $1,300 for the Summerland Food Bank and Resource Centre.
The fundraiser was held Feb. 7 at Granny’s Cafe on Highway 97. It featured chili and macaroni and cheese, available by donation. By mid-afternoon, all the food was gone. The cafe raised $1,310 as a result.
Mike Boersma of Granny’s Cafe said the cafe prepared three times as much food as at a December fundraiser for the Toys and Toonies for Tots and Teens toy drive.
