The Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen has opened its annual bursary program.
“We’re pleased to continue our tradition of supporting the educational goals of students in our region,” said Kevin Ronaghan, who manages grants and community initiatives for the Community Foundation.
“The cost of post-secondary education continues to rise, and that puts a tremendous financial burden on students and their families. Our bursaries will help ease that burden and bring some deserving local students closer to achieving their goals.”
This year, more than $50,000 in awards will be available through 12 bursary funds. The program is open to newly graduating and returning students in the South Okanagan Similkameen. Foundation bursaries will support students’ pursuit of post-secondary studies and employment training in a variety of fields.
The online application portal opens April 2, with applications accepted until May 15. Recipients will be announced in early July.
