Naramata wines have won the last two years

Will a Naramata winery win Wine of the Year for the third year in a row?

You can find out who will win best wine of the year and other awards at the BC Lieutenant Governor’s Wine Awards tonight, Oct. 7 during a virtual ceremony.

A grand total of 812 B.C. wines were judged this year which is a new record.

Last October, Upper Bench Winery won wine of the year in the Lieutenant Governor’s Awards.

The Naramata Bench winery’s Riesling was chosen as best wine by a panel of judges.

In 2019, Naramata Bench’s Deep Roots Syrah won the award for best wine.

In 2020, a panel of judges tasted over 740 wines, awarding a record number of medals to 107 B.C. wineries.

The ceremony starts at 7 p.m. tonight.
