Baldy Mountain Resort is giving a lift to charities in the Okanagan-Boundary region.
The new campaign, called Meaningful Mondays, will see $2 from each lift ticket sold on Mondays until the end of February going back to local charities.
“This is our first season launching Meaningful Mondays, and we couldn’t be more excited to see how it works. These groups do amazing work for our region and we want to recognize that by helping them raise money and awareness,” said Baldy general manager Andy Foster.
Leading up to each Monday, Baldy will be working closely with each of the participating groups to get the word out so as much money as possible can be raised for the charity. As part of the program, each group will host informational displays and presentations on the mountain.

On Jan. 14, Highway to Healing, a charity that assists families in Oliver who require medical care that is not locally available will be on the hill. Valley First — Feed the Valley will be the beneficiary on Jan. 28, followed by Southern Okanagan Secondary School on Feb. 4. The BCSPCA Okanagan/Similkameen branch will be on the hill on Feb. 11 and then on Feb. 25 Houdini the Great Horned Owl will visit the mountain for a presentation by the South OKanagan Rehabilitation Centre for Owls.
“We really see this as a model win-win-win for the industry where great causes get valuable exposure and fundraising. Skiers can feel great about their ski day and we can help a few more people than usual get up to Baldy to experience the magic of the mountains and cure their case of the Mondays,” said marketing co-ordinator Andrew Zwicker.
