This photo (circa likely early 20th century) shows Antoine Pierre (Qway-um-qin) standing in a snowy field with a horse. Antoine was of Nez Percé descent and lived on the Trout Creek Reserve with his wife Julie and their six children. At one time the Pierre family was the only family living in Upper Summerland. The Summerland Museum is currently working collaboratively with members of Antoine’s family to gain a better understanding of Antoine’s history.
