Grade 12 students at Summerland Secondary School are ready for graduation events on Saturday and Monday.

This year, a total of 97 Grade 12 students at the high school are expected to receive their high school diplomas, said Alan Stel, principal of the high school.

On Saturday, June 25, the grad parade will be held in downtown Summerland, leaving from the Summerland Arena at 3 p.m.

The parade is followed by the grand march at the Summerland Arena at 4 p.m.

The high school prom will be held at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre at 5:30 p.m.

On Monday, June 27, the graduation ceremony and dessert social will be held at the Summerland Arena from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This is the first time since 2019 that the graduation ceremony will be held at the arena. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 and 2021 graduation ceremonies were scaled down and held in the high school gym.
