Apex has shifted their opening date to Wednesday, rather than their anticipated opening date of Dec. 9.
A Pineapple Express rain storm that hit B.C. recently left behind both good and bad news for local ski resorts. Apex had pushed back its original opening date from Dec. 2 to Dec. 9. However, with snow making machines going steady, they are now able to open earlier.
According to an announcement they made on Monday, they will have 10 runs available off the triple chair from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and offer a 50 per cent discount on lift tickets. Additional openings will be announced soon.
As of Tuesday, Apex has an alpine base of 74 centimetres and has eight cm of new snow in the past 48 hours.
