According to the Summerland Food Bank, the community is in dire need of winter clothing and boots of all sizes for all ages.
Summerland IGA owner and food bank board member Colin Powell has offered the store as as a drop-off point for gently-used items. So far 30 coats, 28 pairs of boots and 40 pairs of gloves have been donated.
There is still an urgent need, however, for more warm clothing items, especially jackets and boots.
