We will grow in time, but I believe slowly and carefully is the way to grow

Dear Editor:

Firstly, I would like to thank each and every one of our supporters, with a special thanks going to staff at the Beanery, Keller’s Cellar and Royal LePage for their unwavering support.

This truly was a David versus Goliath battle, and one that shows the Davids of this world can make a difference.

I would like to thank each member of council for all your hard work sifting through all the questions, facts and opinions relating to Lark’s proposed development of Banks Crescent and the Official Community Plan.

I know that for some of them, it was a difficult decision to make and I truly believe they thought long and hard to come to the decision that you did.

Thank you council for listening to the residents of this beautiful and unique town we all love so much.

We will grow in time, but I believe slowly and carefully is the way to grow. I moved here in 1987 from Australia with no intention of staying. And here I am still, 30 years later.

And I know that although it has grown by 3,000 odd since then, it has always maintained its small town charm and feel, and I believe we can still do that if we grow gradually and smartly.

Donna Wahl
