Dear Editor:
This year, Summerland Secondary School has spent considerable time revamping our student recognition ceremony, to include various new awards that we feel are reflective of the talents and values of our student population.
To do this we need to acquire upwards of 20 to 30 new plaques or trophies that can be awarded to students as recognition of their achievements.
The areas we are hoping to highlight include academic achievement, achievement in fine arts and applied skills, citizenship, service, interpersonal skills, encouragement of others and more.
We kindly invite you as a community member, business leader or perhaps even as a Summerland Secondary School alumni, to consider a donation towards this venture.
If you can donate even a nominal amount we would appreciate it greatly.
