LETTER: Demand for oil is diminishing

Three cheers to John Horgan for standing up to Rachel Notley

Dear Editor:

Big Oil’s days are numbered.

Not only are available reserves dwindling, but demand is falling off, as end-users anticipate the inflated cost of pursuing ever-diminishing supply, and switch to competing energy sources.

Rachel Notley could respond by biting the bullet, and encouraging solar and wind based energy generation, for which Alberta would be well suited.

Or she could stick her head in the sand — the tar-sand — and squeeze out every last nickel’s worth of the liquid Black Death before the market disappears forever.

And if those who would prefer to keep the planet healthy as long as possible stand in her way, she will try to bully them into submission.

Three cheers to John Horgan for standing up to her!

Yes, test the dilbit. But do it before tons of it get dumped into the sea, not after.

Test it, and be prepared to deny it entry, if it is found to pose an irremediable threat to our precious coast line.
